Gloria Molina Grand Park Supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month

With October designated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Gloria Molina Grand Park will collaborate with local and global organization during the first week of October to increase awareness and provide access to breast cancer screenings and other health resources. The week will also feature a special drone show, developed by Grizzly Drone Entertainment, highlighting cancer prevention and awareness.

Free Mobile Mammograms
Thursday, October 3rd, 9:00 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Alinea Medical Imaging will offer free digital screening mammograms in the park as early detection of cancer before it spreads is critical. Alinea’s mobile health clinic will be parked at the park’s Block 2 between Grand Ave. and Hill St. Pre-registration is required by setting up an appointment. The free mammograms are open to all genders age 40 years and above.

On Thursday and Friday, October 3–4, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., community-based organizations, including Alta Med, American Cancer Society, LA County Department of Mental Health, LA County Department of Public Health, UCLA Health and more, will be at the park to inform Angelenos about additional health and mental health services available to them.
Drone Show
Sunday, October 6th, 7:30 p.m.
Grizzly Entertainment will orchestrate a special 12-minute drone show highlighting cancer prevention and awareness. The 300 remote-controlled drones will fly above the park and may be viewed from the Fountain Overlook.
