JOIN THE EXPERIENCE

Where LA Shows Up

This is the energy we create together in our shared backyard.

We’re gathering at the park to turn our individual stories into one massive movement. Catch the rhythms on two stages, make a zine with your neighbors, add your voice to the AR sky, and stay for the 700-drone show that proves what 35,000 of us look like when we move as one.

From many voices, One Block Party.

All across the park, explore the history that brought us here, make something with your hands, add your voice to something larger than yourself, and connect with the community resources that keep us moving forward.

The Backyard Stage

Anthony Valadez (Host)

Anthony Valadez is a Los Angeles DJ, broadcaster, and recording artist. A longtime presence on LA airwaves, he co-hosted KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic for 15 years and founded Alternalido, KROQ’s first Latin Alternative music program. He’s hosting the Backyard Stage and curating the soundtrack for the drone show.

Tatiana Tate

Tatiana Tate is a Los Angeles-born trumpeter, composer, and bandleader blending jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop into a bold and unmistakably modern sound. She co-arranged and appeared on Doechii’s Grammy-winning Tiny Desk performance, has performed with Stevie Wonder, Sting, and Lizzo, and is currently touring internationally with Macklemore. She is proof that jazz is not only alive but thriving in the hands of the next generation

L.A. Tropifunk

L.A. Tropifunk is a Los Angeles-based funk juggernaut blending Afro-Caribbean rhythms, West African grooves, and heavy breakbeat funk into something that hits different every time. Drawing from the legends like Fela Kuti, James Brown, and Ray Barretto and rooted in the multicultural DNA of LA itself, they have lit up stages from Hollywood Bowl to Colombia to Brazil. Few bands live up to their name the way they do.

The Front Yard Stage

Pangea Sound

Pangea Sound is a DJ and production collective fusing sounds from the Caribbean, Africa, Latin America, and everywhere in between. Started in 2019 by Falcons and SuperNova, what began as a passion for bringing music cultures together has grown into a nationwide event series built on one idea: music has no borders. This is the global sound.

Discover & Connect!

Your community. Your joy. Your park.

The Resilience Hub

Public health as power. Connect with free community wellness resources, join workshops, and tap into the organizations that keep Los Angeles moving forward with Arts for LA, Creative Acts, and Mount of Angels

Your Voice In The Sky

Share your story and watch it take flight. Murmurations by EyeJack transforms your voice into part of a living AR installation at City Hall, a symbolic virtual protest where individual stories join thousands of others in a coordinated wave of collective expression. Add your voice. Become the ripple.

Dance, Art, and Living History

Explore LA’s civil rights legacy through the Latinx Freedom Movement Archive, experience Kaimera’s powerful site-specific choreography, and make a zine with the DSTL Arts Mobile Art Lab. History is a living thing. Come help build it forward.
