The West Coast’s Largest Free New Year’s Eve Celebration Will Also Feature an Epic Lineup of All-Female DJs and L.A.’s Favorite Gourmet Food Trucks
LOS ANGELES (November 21, 2024) — Gloria Molina Grand Park is the ultimate destination for Angelenos of all ages to ring in 2025! The West Coast’s largest free New Year’s Eve party will take center stage—for the 13th consecutive year—on Tuesday, December 31, when revelers immerse themselves in the tantalizing beats and sounds of global music with local and international artists and DJs who will perform on two stages. From afrobeats and reggaeton to hip-hop, the nearly five-hour festivity will be the toast—and the talk—of the town. To top off the epic celebration, the park’s awe-inspiring art show will be projected onto L.A.’s iconic City Hall as partygoers count down to midnight. The dazzling projections, produced by A3 Visual, will highlight L.A.’s beauty, diversity, culture and natural landscapes as well as heighten Angelenos’ awareness of environmental green living.
“Without a doubt, Gloria Molina Grand Park’s NYELA will bring us together in joy, as a unified community, to welcome a new year,” said Rachel S. Moore, president and CEO of The Music Center. “This year’s festivities showcase an electrifying list of homegrown and global performers who will transport and uplift us through the beauty of music, dance and artistry. I invite Angelenos of all ages to connect and celebrate with each other this New Year’s Eve in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles at the park for everyone!”
With gates opening at 8:00 p.m., Gloria Molina Grand Park’s NYELA will encompass the six city blocks that comprise the park. Attendees may access the park’s grounds through three specially marked entrances:
- Hill and 1st Streets
- Broadway and 2nd Streets
- Hill and Temple Streets
“As Gloria Molina Grand Park’s NYELA closes out an extraordinary year of reimagination with our year-round programming and salute to sustainable practices, we look forward to celebrating the new year with unforgettable music and dance experiences that reflect the rich diversity and resilience of Los Angeles,” said Gloria Molina Grand Park Director Robert Gonzalez. “The park team is ready to usher in 2025 with more innovative and exciting events for all Angelenos throughout the year, beginning with an epic New Year’s Eve celebration that will outshine the rest!”
The Countdown Stage, hosted and deejayed by Novena Carmel from KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic in the park’s Block 4 between Broadway and Spring Streets, will open with Southern California’s very own hip-hop band Weapons of Mass Creation followed by Puerto Rican producer and multi-instrumentalist Pachy “Pachyman” Garcia. The final act of the evening, Brooklyn-based Antibalas, will bring some East Coast flavor and rhythm to Los Angeles as the band hypnotizes revelers with its unique afrobeat sound, uniting highlife, jazz, funk and traditional African elements with monstrous horns and bass.
The Get Down Stage, located in the park’s Block 2 between Grand Avenue and Hill Street, will be hosted by Midi Riperton and a lineup of all-female DJs, including non-profit organization Girls Make Beats featuring Sparkle x MAK10; Linafornia; DJ Que Madre; and the Ladies of Sound presenting Love Language featuring DJs Adaj, January, yoBEE! x Dr Samson and Priyanka. Collectively, these turntable masters will bring revelers over the top by spinning the best electronic dance music, leading up to the countdown to midnight.
