The August 16 edition celebrates the foundational Black and LGBTQIA+ roots of house music with an extended collective takeover by TheyHouseLA. Curated by Terrell Brooke, resident selectors spin a deep, continuous curation of rare Chicago house, acid tracks, and deep house classics.

Sunday Sessions is a free outdoor house music experience where people gather to dance, connect, picnic, and enjoy great DJs in the middle of Downtown LA. Some come to dance for hours. Others bring a blanket and soak up the music. There’s no right way to experience it.
Yes, Gloria Molina Grand Park’s Sunday Sessions is open to all ages. We invite everyone to be a part of this incredible event. Pets are welcome too!
Yes, it is free to attend! No ticket is necessary. If you see anyone selling you a ticket please reach out to us – grandparkinfo@musiccenter.org
Public parking is available for $10.00 per vehicle at the following locations:
- Main Music Center Garage: (135 N. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012)
- The Music Center’s Walt Disney Concert Hall Garage: (111 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90012)
Conveniently located at the Civic Center/Grand Park station along the Metro B Line (Red) and D Line (Purple) via Metro’s new Regional Connector at Grand Av Arts/Bunker Hill or Historic Broadway Little Tokyo/Arts District stops on the Metro A Line (Blue) and E Line (Expo).
Skip the DTLA traffic and parking chaos. Take Metrolink instead! Grab a $10 SoCal Day Pass Weekend for unlimited rides all day Sunday. Up to 3 kids (17 & under) ride completely FREE with a fare-paying adult.

Absolutely! Coming early lets you claim a prime spot on the lawn, settle in with a picnic, and grab food before the dance lawn fills up.
Early arrivals also get first dibs on a free, limited-edition shirt from the BELLA+CANVAS Live Print Lab (available starting at 3:00 p.m. while supplies last). Plus, you’ll help set the energy for the rest of the afternoon!
Absolutely. Many people do. One of the best things about house music is how quickly strangers become part of the same dance floor.
Not at all. Whether you’re a lifelong house dancer or someone who just likes to move, everyone is welcome. There’s no choreography and no pressure.
Want to pick up a few moves? PACKRAT is kicking off our August 16 session with a free dance workshop on the lawn starting right at 3:00 p.m.

💡 Hydration Tip: Free water refilling station is available in the park (located near the Starbucks entry plaza) to keep your bottle filled all afternoon.
Grab a bite from a selection of local food vendors offering a variety of options throughout the day, such as Fresh Pizza, Deli Doctor, The Food Clinic, and The FRY.
Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase.
Yes. Guests 21 and over can purchase beer, wine, and cocktails from our on-site bar. A valid government-issued ID is required, and alcoholic beverages must be enjoyed within the designated area.
Yes! You’re welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy it on the lawn.
