READ YOUR HEART OUT in Downtown LA! Grand Park is the place to see, hear and read from the largest coalition of Los Angeles-based authors and publishers in a day for book lovers both big and small. Downtown Bookfest will feature a family pavilion and top ideas from THE MUSIC CENTER’S ARTIZEN LAB, where ideas are shared and brought to life.

THE COMMUNITY CAMERA: Explore a crowd-sourced exhibit of photos and take a photo with our cameras to share what you love about Bookfest! 
FILL THE WELL: Create your own five-word poem and add it to an installation in Grand Park. 
LOS ANGELES SHEET MUSIC: Paint with others and let your brushstrokes blend into one large sheet music that will be interpreted and played in the moment by musicians.

2:30 – 2:45PM:  Celebration of MATILDA THE MUSICAL, coming soon to the Ahmanson Theatre as part of the 2014-15 season presented by Center Theatre Group, featuring a reading by Kate Burton and performance by The Colburn Children’s Choir.
